When the replacement of a Finance Director met delays, this non-departmental public body needed to find an interim manager.
Alium was asked to recommend a hands-on, high-calibre
interim Finance Director who understood the processes and procedures needed to run a £multi-million Divisional business. The environment was often uncertain in political and exchange terms, but there was an expectation of consistent process and standards for budget deployment and control.
The chosen candidate redesigned the International Finance operations through
major restructuring and process change to enhance global financial management control. He proposed a regionalised model, which promised to cut future costs by over £300,000. He then designed and directed the transition planning, training and handover for the new structure, including recruiting new staff and introducing new tools.
