The challenge facing the organisation was due to the fact that the businesses had two very different platforms. In addition, the legacy systems were proving costly, and in some cases, very difficult to maintain. This was compounded by the fact that many of the in-house skills were lost due to the acquisition. Alium was tasked with finding an IT interim programme director with an understanding of complex system integration and the ability to re-engineer core business systems and processes.
