Interim CIO

Function: Financial Management Section: Financial Services

Our client was facing a number of significant issues following a major acquisition. One of the barriers to the successful integration was the issue around the merging of the IT infrastructures that underpinned the organisational capability. A business-critical problem that needed a rapid solution.

The main challenge facing the organisation was due to the fact that the businesses had two very different platforms. In addition, the legacy systems were proving costly, and in some cases, very difficult to maintain. This was compounded by the fact that many of the in-house skills were lost due to the acquisition. Alium was tasked with finding an IT interim programme director with an understanding of complex system integration and the ability to re-engineer core business systems and processes.

Our interim CIO’s knowledge and experience of outsourcing and creating robust operational delivery capability provided a rapid and effective solution.
