Experience
John Bloor had a successful banking career before becoming an interim management provider in 2001. He worked for Barclays where he had a number of senior regional management roles as well as appointments heading up product and service line areas. He became a regional director responsible for the bank’s franchise in the West Midlands, which was the largest UK region of the bank outside of London.

After Barclays, he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers where he developed the firm’s Turnaround Panel as a specialist interim management offering; it subsequently became a much copied model in the professional services sector. Before he joined Alium Partners for the first time in 2007 (when it operated as Boyden) to develop a business transformation practice, John also worked for the US consulting and advisory firm, FTI.

Responsibilities
John leads Alium’s Finance practice and places senior interim executives in the UK and Europe across a wide range of industry sectors, either at Finance Director level, or their direct reports. In the UK, he also places senior finance managers into public sector organisations, particularly health, and in addition, he has significant experience of providing clients with in-house legal resource, both at General Counsel and Company Secretary level.  John has sector responsibility for our Financial Services practice which supports line management, regulatory and business change assignments across banking and insurance.
